During the visit to Incredible Paws your dog/cat will receive a bath, clip/trim or just brush out, nail clipping and ear hair removal and cleaning. All dogs are bathed unless we are specifically asked not to. We recommend you have your dog groomed on a regular basis i.e. every 6 to 8 weeks this way your dog is happy clean and free from mats and always looking at their best.

 

HAND STRIPPING

Hand-stripping is the process of plucking the outer guard hairs once the coat is “blown” – the top coat is pulled out using fingers or a stripping knife. The knife is not used to cut but only to pull the hair out, held between the thumb and forefinger. When it’s ready, that dead coat is easily removed. Using a gentle touch, the groomer maintains a steady rhythm and works the coat a few hairs at a time. However handstripping can be an uncomfortable technique for some pet dogs and they may become distressed so we reserve the right to refuse to carry out this technique on some dogs as we adhere to the animal welfare act (we shall of course consult the owner where possible).

 

 

We are aware that some pets due to illness or age require special attention while in our care. Please inform us of your pets special needs when you leave them with us. We will do our best to ensure that your pet is comfortable and feels loved.
